Open Position: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

JOB POSTING:

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator has a fun and active variety of tasks so that one day is never like the next!  In this collaborative and cross-functional role, you will be responsible for three pillars of our company’s success:  external community marketing communications, client communications, and internal communications. Work with our fabulous team of field employees and our office team to provide WOW branding, communications and service to our clients and employees.

The schedule and hours in this job include:

This part-time position includes flexible working hours 10-20 hours each week Monday through Friday during office hours.  Occasional light hours are required on weekends for community events or meeting field employees at their weekend work for reasons that can’t be duplicated on weekdays.  Telework from home is required, with some in-office work required, team meetings, event coordination, and meeting employees at their field work.

Functional areas of responsibility:

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator should be a team-oriented individual with the ability to interface with others and work independently, an engaging and organized writer, a detail-oriented technology rock star with a huge love for pets, who can work in these areas:

  1. Community Marketing and Social Media Content
  • Using storytelling skills to communicate, advocate and advance the company brand and all three lines of services: pet sitting, dog walking, and dog training
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while ensuring accuracy, adherence to standards, and timely delivery of all products
  • Creating and maintaining a marketing editorial calendar with daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal content plans
  • Writing external marketing communications for print and web delivery
  • Maintaining a consistent voice while writing and editing, including blog posts for specific target audiences, video scripts and filming employees, brochures, training materials, website content, business processes and procedures, etc.
  • Shepherding a video channel on YouTube
  • Planning, organizing, and working at community events, local marketing opportunities, and group dog training classes to meet pet owners, prospects and clients
  1. Client Communications
  • Understanding our clients’ needs, expectations, and wishes for communications from us
  • Advocating for client perspectives in company communications
  • Creating and maintaining a client communications editorial calendar with daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal content plans
  • Writing client communications, using audience segmentation
  • Writing, deploying and analyzing online surveys
  • Inviting and managing client testimonials, including inviting public feedback on our website, Yelp, Google, Facebook, Nextdoor, etc.
  1. Internal Communications
  • Understanding our employees’ daily experiences and tasks in their jobs
  • Advocating for employee needs in receiving company communications
  • Creating and maintaining an internal editorial calendar with daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal content plans
  • Writing, deploying and analyzing online surveys
  • Writing internal communications, employee tips, alerts, reminders, training and ongoing education
  1. Operations Support
  • Collaborating with and delegating marketing and communications tasks to student interns, contractors, or other vendors
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with all employees in our team – proactively seeking input, feedback and direction from all our field and office employees
  • Creating templates for company communications and other shared tools for repeatable success
  •  “Managing upwards” by making recommendations, raising issues, sharing ideas, and collaborating with Client Service Managers and the General Manager.
  1. Technology Use for All Above Functions
  • Using online tools to gather best practice examples in the above areas
  • Using online tools to gather periodic competitive research
  • Using our cloud-based CRM/operations software, “Time to Pet,” including the bulk email feature and the client data reports for segmentation and list planning
  • Managing incoming emails in Office 365 / Microsoft Exchange
  • Using our tech products’ built-in analytics tools to view and measure community activity on our website and social media accounts
  • Publishing and editing content to our website using WordPress
  • Collaborating via Google Docs, Dropbox and Trello
  • Writing and publishing print content for Linked In, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Shepherding internal and external YouTube channels
  • Setting up client email campaigns in Time to Pet bulk email feature
  • Evaluate email community marketing tools for future use: MailChimp, Drip, Aweber, ActiveCampaign, and other products
  • Taking photos and videos of our employees at work for use in marketing
  • Evaluate and suggest other tools, technologies, and processes we should use
