We’ve been delighting clients for 15 years. We’d love to meet you and your pets and have you hire us, too!  Our experienced, bonded, and insured professionals care for your pets in your home following your instructions.  In return, you enable us to earn a living doing work we LOVE.

If your pets are gregarious and healthy, or shy and introverted, or need special or customized care – whether elderly, ill, or very young – we can help!  We’re ready for happy playtime as well as unusual, unexpected or emergency situations.

Alison
Alison jumped aboard in 2018, and she’s our Client Services Manager in our office. She’s a long-time volunteer with Rural Dog rescue, most recently managing their volunteer population, training volunteers, scheduling and doing home adoption visits, scheduling volunteer rotations, going to adoption events, and has been a foster dog mom along the way. She has one dog of her own, a three-year-old terrier mix named Bailey. In her previous experience, Alison worked in sales and customer service, in virtual teams with field employees, office management and data analysis positions.

Andy joined the team in 2018 with over 8 years’ experience working professionally with pets. He worked as a Veterinary Assistant administering critical and routine care and prescriptions, and later as a manager at a full-service pet sitting company with an attached doggie day-care facility n New York. He is a certified dog trainer and worked with the Fear-Free program at local vet clinics to help pets with vet anxiety. He lives in West End Alexandria and has a dog and cat at home.

Audrey joined the team in 2019 working with our outside-the-beltway clients from Huntington down to Mount Vernon. Audrey has past experience working in a doggie day care center with lots of tales of pack behavior management and individual dog personalities. She’s a long-time owner of both cats and dogs, so she’s ready for feline play and care as well! Audrey had a previous career as a graphic designer and brings a great service mentality and focus on client expectations, service and client happiness. She has her bachelor’s in design.

CERTIFIED: PET FIRST AID/CPR

Elizabeth Legere founded Alexandria Pet Care in 2004, and serves as General Manager. She currently owns Mocha, a frisky Lagotto Romagnolo. Past pets include Portuguese Water Dogs, an Affenpinscher, a Bouvier des Flandres, a Lilac-point Siamese, a rescue tabby, a gray pony, Swimmy and Sparkle the water frogs, numerous hamsters, and box turtles. Elizabeth has a bachelor’s degree from Smith College, and previously worked in corporate marketing, SaaS technology development, and communications consulting, before finding her true passion working with pets.

Elle joined our team in 2012, after years as a veterinary assistant. Previously, she worked several years at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital, before which she worked at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, MD, socializing all the animals in the shelter. Now, she shares her home with a kitten and an older Shih-Tzu rescued as an abuse rehabilitation case from the animal hospital. Elle studied Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, specializing in textile arts and ceramics. She spends her free time creating pottery and volunteering as a teacher’s assistant at The Art League.

Gina joined us in 2018 as Finance Coordinator and Bookkeeper.
She brings us a wealth of knowledge and financial discipline gained during 25 years as a CPA working in corporate accounting and finance management for global companies Payless, Maersk, and Ernst & Young. Gina holds an MBA from University of Santa Maria La Antigua, and received her CPA license in Panama. Gina has also been marketing with us at our public company events around town, and loves meeting pet owners. She and her family have two pets, a Yorkie named Teddy and a cat named Goliath.

CERTIFIED: PET FIRST AID/CPR

Laura B joined Alexandria Pet Care in 2017 with over 15 years’ pet sitting experience with family pets of all kinds and most medical conditions. Her work with our clients in neighborhoods from Belle Haven to Mount Vernon includes geriatric and insulin-dependent animals. She also works part time a few days a week in human resources at a government agency. Laura has a bachelor’s from San Diego State University. She moved to Northern Virginia from San Diego and has settled right in sharing her passion of all sorts of trivia.

Shannon
Shannon joined the team in 2019 after several years as an adult amateur equestrian on the competition circuit, and as a private horseback riding instructor. She has four years’ experience in private pet sitting for cats and dogs in Northern Virginia, and at home has two dogs, a Shih Tzu and a Great Dane puppy. She spent a few years working in salon and spa management, and is building on that experience, back in school pursuing a business management degree. She’s eager to use her animal experience in her work at Alexandria Pet Care, and she can’t wait to meet your pets!
Stephanie
Stephanie
Stephanie joined the team in 2019 with a couple of years’ experience fostering pets and working with a local pet rescue organization at their adoption events and transporting adoptable pets. She grew up in sunny Florida and moved here to Alexandria with her career in non-profit communications and management. She’s a long-time animal advocate, volunteers at the National Zoo, and in her role fostering pets has given special post-surgical animal care and fostered “special case” behavior dogs and ultra-energetic young rescues. She’s excited to help our clients with all their pets!

Once you’re a client, we’re available to your pets all year long for dog walking and pet sitting.

7 am to 10 pm, 365.

We guarantee our availability, when you book appointments with three or more days’ notice, except in November and December.  (Holiday period visits Nov 15-30 and Dec 15-31) should be booked 30 days in advance.  All clients meet your neighborhood team of pet professionals, so you can schedule pet visits and know that even if one employee’s schedule is full, you’ll already know personally who else from your team will come to your home.
